Cecil, an 8-year-old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, was surrendered by his family in New Jersey, because they no longer had time for him. He was admitted to the Wheatens In Need Rescue program, and after two weeks in foster care, was placed in a new adoptive home in Leonard, North Dakota. This site documents his journey to his new home via the Wheaten Underground Railroad (WURL).
The WURL took place over the weekends of November 9-10, 2002 and November 16-17, 2002. It spanned nearly 1,600 miles and was the longest WURL in WIN's history. Click below to view scenes from along the way. |
